Berlin Biennale 2006

Here are some pictures from the Berlin Biennale in April 2006. I thought the art was not too impressive. One of the exhibition spaces, however, a former school for Jewish girls, had that morbid charm you were able to find a lot in Berlin until a few years ago.
With all the renovation, it is slowly disappearing.

Berlin Zoo

another first for me: animal photography.

i went to the zoo today...
one of the first fine spring days, so many animals were out.
they were probably as happy as us humans about the nice weather.

Berlin 2005

these are some pix i snapped in berlin with my trusty mobile phone camera.
the crappy quality was enhanced by a layer of crud on the lens.
for some reason some of these pictures still work... somehow.

berlin's tv tower as seen through a window of the "palast der republik".
kind of a historic sight... which you won't be able to see again
because the palace is being torn down.

same thing from a different perspective.

tv tower - this time from outside the "palast der republik", reflecting in its windows.

you might have guessed by now that i like this tower.

the berlin dome, shot through the window of the "palast der republik".

some optimistic guy gave us berlinians hope by spraying this
graffiti ("it will be fine again") all over town

near the "siegessäule" (column of victory).

one of berlin's back yards.

at a construction site somewhere in berlin-mitte.

i honestly don't remember where i took this photo. some gallery or exhibition.

Here are some pictures from my recent trip to Tokyo, all shot with my Canon EOS 350D.
Click on the lo-res previews to see mid-res pictures.
The high resolution originals were too big to post here, sorry.

Feel free to leave comments.

Pedestrians rush towards Center Gai just after the lights have turned green.
This is possibly the busiest street crossing in the world.
